Whether we’re working with a classroom, birthday party, community group, or special event, we tailor the experience around your goals, interests, age group, and setting. Our mission is simple: create hands-on building experiences that are fun, meaningful, and memorable.

We work with you to create activities and building challenges that fit your needs. From STEAM-focused classroom enrichment to themed parties and special events, we can adjust the format, difficulty, and play opportunities to help bring your vision to life.

Personal attention

We believe kids get more out of an activity when they feel seen, encouraged, and included.

Our friendly, experienced facilitators keep participant groups manageable so they can provide hands-on guidance and encouragement throughout the experience. Whether a child is picking up LEGO® bricks for the first time or already considers themselves a master builder, we meet them where they are and help them enjoy the experience.

Chicago born & built

The Building Place was created by Chicago parents for Chicago families.

Our programs were inspired by our own kids, their friends, and the kinds of experiences we want them to have growing up—creative, social, educational, and genuinely fun. We create experiences we would happily sign our own children up for.

There’s no “right” kind of builder here.
